# Beaverlodge cross-connection control and backflow prevention installation

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada seeks construction work to implement cross-connection control at Beaverlodge Research Farm and protect potable water compliance. The notice calls for about 35 backflow preventers in 10 occupied buildings, associated plumbing rearrangements, phasing and coordinated water shutdowns. This is a two-phase qualification and financial tender process. The live page lists a closing time of 13:00 EDT on 28 October 2026, while the feed gives 18:00 UTC for that date; the exact time is therefore shown as a source discrepancy.

"description": "Description:\r\nThe objective of this project is to ensure the potable water supply at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) is safe and in compliance with applicable codes and guidelines, and municipal bylaws. This project will see the implementation of recommendations from a cross connection control evaluation completed in 2025 at the Beaverlodge Research Farm located at PO BOX 29, 100038 TOWNSHIP ROAD 720, COUNTY OF GRANDE PRAIRIE, Beaverlodge, Alberta, T0H 0C0.\r\n\r\nThere are approximately 35 backflow preventers to be installed in 10 buildings. Backflow preventors include 14 reduced pressure principle assemblies, 3 atmospheric vacuum breakers, 3 air gaps, 1 duel check valve assembly, 9 hose connection vacuum breakers, 3 mixing valves and 1 pressure vacuum breaker. Plumbing rearrangements may be necessary for installation, code compliance, and for implementation of drawing and specification requirements.\r\n\r\nThe site will be fully occupied throughout construction. In order to minimize disruption to operations, construction will need to take into consideration the use and occupancy of the adjacent areas and incorporate phasing and scheduling activities to suit. Water shut downs will need to be coordinated with site maintenance and research staff to ensure as little disruption to the operations as possible. The work will be conducted on AAFC property and will require trades staff to obtain a reliability status security clearance prior to being on site for the work.\r\n\r\nBasis of selection: \r\nThis is a two phase selection process. Bidders responding to this ITT are to submit in two phases. Phase One qualification covers only the qualifications and experience of the Bidders. Following the evaluation of Phase One submissions, Bidders will be advised of the result of the assessment of their submission and the status of the Phase Two tender. Phase Two Bidders will be provided an Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the financial evaluation in relation to the specifications and drawings. A combination of the Phase One and Phase Two submissions constitutes the final bid.\r\n\r\nInitially, Bidders are invited to submit their qualifications in the first phase of the selection procedure. Only the Phase One information asked for in the ITT is to be included in Phase One submissions, and evaluation of Phase One submissions will be carried out only on the Phase One information requested.\r\n\r\nConstruction Time: The Contractor must perform and complete the Work by March 31, 2027.\r\n\r\nSOLICITATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO AAFC AT: \r\nSee Section 3 of the Invitation to Qualify.
