The strategic framework sets out three crosscutting key objectives and a range of actions for promoting workers’ health and safety. The three objectives are: anticipating and managing change in the new world of work brought about by the green, digital and demographic transitions; improving prevention of workplace accidents and illnesses; increasing preparedness for any potential future health crises. The implementation of these three objectives is underpinned by: (i) social dialogue; (ii) strengthening of the evidence base; (iii) strengthening of enforcement; (iv) awareness raising; and (v) funding. At its plenary meeting in December 2025, the tripartite Advisory Committee on Safety and Health at Work (ACSH) adopted an opinion on the state of play and future impulses regarding the EU strategic framework on health and safety at work4.
